In addition, cherries provide B vitamins, manganese, copper, magnesium and vitamin K. Cherries are rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds. Cherries help to combat oxidative stress, fight cellular damage, and reduce inflammation. Cherries also protect against chronic conditions like heart disease, diabetes, mental decline and certain cancers. Plus, cherries can help with symptoms of arthritis and gout due to their anti-inflammatory effects by decreasing uric acid levels. Lastly, eating cherries or drinking tart cherry juice may help your quality of sleep. Cherries contain melatonin, which is a substance that helps regulate your sleep-wake cycle.
