Your Gut is Your Friend

Some natural ways to improve your gut health:  The proper balance, composition, and health of your gut bacteria is necessary for positive immune responses and optimal health. In addition, The whole grains and legumes also provides prebiotics to feeds the probiotics gut bacteria. Vegetables such as asparagus, artichokes, onions, chicory, garlic, leeks, and bananas as well as grains like barley, rye , and lentils provide this microflora for the prebiotics. 

Salt is decimating to certain beneficial bacteria so go easy on its usage or preferably not at all. In addition salt encourages high blood pressure and certain autoimmune conditions. Sugar and artificial sweeteners encourage insulin resistance and reduce the number of good bacteria. 

Meal frequency also affects the gut microflora. Time restricted feeding, like eating two meals and no snacks, allows for 8-10 hours of proper digestion which discourages obesity, disruption of blood glucose regulation and bowel diseases. The composition of gut bacteria can quickly change for the good or for the bad within 10 days.
